Funny how you start out to create something one way and it ends up turning out completely different than what you had in mind. I'm really happy with the way this pendant turned out. It's done in polymer clay and has antiqued copper wire bails. It's 2 1/2 inches from top bail to bottom pumpkin leaf. The whole thing, including the wires, is protected with a polycrylic varnish. I'm interested in creating a whole series of heart pendants. This is my first. The heart is sculpted in polymer clay with a real fresh water pearl that's been "captured" with copper wire. The bail is also handmade with copper wire. I've painted thin strips of gold with a polymer paint that I make myself. It adds a bit of texture to the heart. I bought a set of Rapidograph pens because I wanted to give pen & ink another try. I use to do pen & ink years ago, (don't ask) and although I liked working with the ink I hated having to change the pen's tip every time I wanted a different size. I've been creating these trading cards that are called ACEO (Artist Card Editions & Originals) or ATC (Artist Trading Cards) They're really a lot of fun to do. This is Nipper the Gripper. I like dogs and I wanted to sculpt a doggy gargoyle. He's a cutie! This is Liadan (Grey Lady). She came into being because of my children. When they were teens they both loved dragons and gargoyles, (okay, I admit it, I love them too) Liadan was created for my children and she was the first of my gargoyles and is very special to me.Liadan is a limited edition of 2500, when the edition sells out the molds will be destroyed and she will no longer be available.
